HMRC have confirmed that the new rates for child benefits are set to increase at the start of April 2022.
HMRC have announced their new Child Benefits rate, which, starting April 2022, will have risen. Child benefits are eligible for parents who are bringing up a child who is younger than 16 or under 20 years old if they stay in approved education or training.
Child Benefits are paid every four weeks, and there is no limit to how many children you can claim for. However, parents earning more than £50,000 might be expected to pay some of their Child Benefit back through tax.
The current Child Benefits rates are:
For who | Rate (Weekly) |
Eldest or Only Child | £21.15 |
Additional Children | £14 |
From the 11th of April, these rates will be changed to:
For who | Rate (Weekly) |
Eldest or Only Child | £21.80 |
Additional Children | £14.45 |
